How SBI Digital Markets and Ember Protocol Share the Work

The Japanese firm sits within SBI Holdings. It brings asset origination, structuring, regulated financial services, and an institutional investor network.

The group operates across 26 countries and regions, according to the press release.

Ember Protocol is an investment platform and infrastructure provider. Its tools cover tokenization, vault deployment, liquidity, and product operations across blockchains.

Ibra Barbery, co-founder of Ember Protocol, said institutional assets need strong partners in both finance and on-chain infrastructure.

Offchain Labs built Arbitrum, an Ethereum Layer 2 (a network built on top of Ethereum) that hosts one of the largest on-chain finance ecosystems. The first RWA products are planned to launch there.

What the MoU Covers and How It Fits Wider RWA Moves

The MoU is meant to cover a product from start to finish. That includes issuance, investor subscriptions and redemptions, settlement, secondary trading, and distribution across networks.

The vault platform is explained in the project documentation.

In a separate deal, BIT Group and Techtanium recently announced a strategic MoU on tokenized assets.

Janus Henderson also launched a tokenized Nasdaq-100 fund on Stellar on October 28.

Why Arbitrum RWA Tokenization Comes First in This Plan

Steven Goldfeder, CEO of Offchain, said institutions want such products to land where capital and users are already active. He added that products launched on Arbitrum can reach that activity from day one.

He said the Japanese firm offers institutional distribution, while Ember supplies the tools to structure and issue, which gives the products a clear path to investors.

What Comes Next for the Deal and What Remains Unclear

CK Ong, Acting CEO of SBI Digital Markets, said the firm wanted a DeFi-native partner that looks beyond distribution to asset suitability and investor risk. He framed the work as a responsible step for digital capital markets.

Several points remain open. Asset types, timelines, and deployment details are not final in the public materials. The release also carries forward-looking statements and says it is not an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any security or digital asset.

For now, the plan for Arbitrum RWA tokenization is a direction, not a product. The first named assets, launch timing, and compliance details are the next items to watch in tokenization news.
