The partnership is now a live product. This Chainlink News Today update covers Bottomline's official launch of Global Pay Connect, an onchain payment connectivity platform built on Chainlink infrastructure.

Bottomline ranks among the top three Swift service providers globally, moving more than $16 trillion in payments annually. This Chainlink News Today report explains what actually launched, and how it builds on the partnership announced earlier this month.
LINK traded near $11.75 at last check, up 1.48% over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap data. Market cap sat near $8.79 billion, with 24-hour volume around $351.8 million. This Chainlink News Today update pairs that price context with the Global Pay Connect launch below.

Bottomline confirmed the official launch of Global Pay Connect on September 17. This follows a strategic partnership between Bottomline and Chainlink first announced on September 3, meaning today's update marks the platform itself going live, not a new partnership announcement.
Global Pay network gives Bottomline's more than 600 bank customers, spanning roughly 92 countries, a route into onchain payment rails without needing to replatform existing systems.
Detail | Figure |
Bottomline annual payment volume | $16+ trillion |
Bank customers connected | 600+ |
Countries covered | ~92 |
products used | CCIP, CRE |
Two LINK products do the underlying work here. The Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, connects Bottomline's payments infrastructure to blockchain networks through a single, network-agnostic integration model.
The Chainlink Runtime Environment, or CRE, coordinates payment workflows end to end, spanning both onchain and offchain systems. This structure means banks do not need a separate, custom integration for every blockchain network they might eventually touch.
Banks continue using the messaging standards they already rely on. This includes Swift and ISO 20022 formats, so institutions reach onchain rails through familiar infrastructure rather than adopting new systems from scratch.
Global Pay Connect extends beyond Swift alone. According to Bottomline's own announcement, the platform also supports several domestic and international payment rails:
SEPA, for the euro area
Bacs and CHAPS, for the United Kingdom
SIC, for Switzerland
CHIPS, for the United States
Lynx, for Canada
EBICS, for continental Europe
The platform also supports direct host-to-host connections between banks and businesses. This LINK News Today detail shows the launch reaches further than a single payment network, positioning Global Pay Connect as connectivity infrastructure across multiple regional systems at once.
Neither company has disclosed which banks will use the service first or when initial live transactions will settle through it.
This LINK News Today update marks the practical follow-through on a partnership announced two weeks ago. Global Pay Connect is now live, giving Bottomline's bank network a path to onchain payment rails across multiple messaging standards, powered by Chainlink's CCIP and CRE. The next signal worth watching is which banks actually begin using the platform, and how quickly.
