The organisation declared its strategic alliance with Web3 Salon in an official X post. By giving startups financial support, the project will promote development and innovation on the XRP Ledger. More generally, the partnership seeks to support Asia's blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency sector.

Interestingly, The is a project supported by the Asia Web3 Alliance Japan and supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). This project offers XRPL builders comprehensive support, including financial, technical, and business resources, as part of the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund and Ripple's 1 billion XRP initiative. 

Startups may receive up to $200K in grant funding each

Over the course of the following year, company will provide grant financing of up to $200,000 per initiative as part of the collaboration. This program is a component of Ripple's larger 1 Billion XRP commitment to offer financial, technical, and business support to developers and companies working on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), as well as the XRPL Japanese and Korea Fund. A limited number of Japanese early-stage firms that are expanding on the XRPL, namely in use cases such as digital payments, tokenized real-world assets (RWA), and decentralized finance (DeFi), will receive the investment.

The selection of grantees will be based on their capacity for expansion, level of technological proficiency, and compatibility with organisation's investment aims. To guarantee strategic effect and assistance, Company will oversee the grant process personally. Startups will have access to Ripple's vast worldwide network of partners, experts, and clients in addition to cash. 

The Salon will provide founder support for Ripple, offering workshops, coaching, and opportunities to help scale businesses, improve go-to-market tactics, and establish connections with investors and regulators. The multi-stakeholder platform aims to promote communication between the public and commercial sectors, bridging the gap between conventional financial systems and blockchain innovation through open roundtables and one-on-one mentoring, and goes beyond a grant program.

Four major Web3 events planned in Japan through March 2026

A prominent member of the XRPL community, WrathofKahneman, revealed until March 2026 that this cooperation is closely related to Ripple's larger Asian development goal. Additionally, he highlighted the planned event roadmap as evidence of Ripple's continued and deeper dedication to Japan.

Both plan to hold four significant events in Japan from early 2026 to foster cooperation between innovators, regulators, and business executives through pitch contests, policy forums, investor networking, and educational programs. The event features startup pitch competitions, industry panels, investor networking sessions, and educational workshops on tokenization, compliance, and cross-border growth. It aims to accelerate growth for individual startups and the entire ecosystem, not just for individual startups.

The Web3 innovation in Japan Results in XRP Surge

Country's highly structured environment presents hurdles for emerging startups and frontier technologies. Both companies are partnering to lower entry barriers and help startups navigate Japan's complex Web3 landscape. The partnership aims to support visionary founders and strengthen the bridge between global innovation and Japanese tech landscape. With the support of JETRO, Ripple is also engaging fintech startups and helping them scale through blockchain technology. The price of XRP was up over 3% over the previous day, trading at $2.23. A huge amount of interest among traders is also demonstrated by the 146% increase in trading volume over the past day.
