The Ethereum foundation confirmed a major leadership update after Tomasz K. Stańczak shared on his official X account: I am stepping down from my co-ED role at the EF at the end of February 2026. Bastian Aue is taking over the co-ED role alongside Hsiao-Wei. The future is bright for builders, for Ethereum, for the EF, and for me.

According to his own explanation, the move reflects a planned handover and personal career shift. He stated that the organization is now in a healthier state, and remaining longer would feel like simply “passing the baton” instead of executing independently.
