XRP kicked off September on a green candle, trading near $1.37 with a small 0.3% gain over 24 hours.

Its market cap holds steady around $86 billion, keeping it comfortably in the top five coins by size. But the real story in XRP news today isn't just the price.
It's what's happening around Ripple's stablecoin and its growing footprint in institutional portfolios.
The 24-hour chart shows $XRP moving between $1.36 and $1.40, with dip-buyers stepping in near the bottom of that range, as flagged in a recent update from Stellar_Rippler on X.
One green day doesn't confirm a trend on its own. But it's arriving at the same time as two separate pieces of good news for the Ripple ecosystem, and that timing is worth paying attention to.
Ripple's dollar-pegged stablecoin , RLUSD, has climbed to a fresh all-time high market cap of roughly $2.36 billion.

RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, a Ripple Labs subsidiary, and it's backed 1:1 by cash and cash equivalents.
It's built for cross-border payments and now runs across both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum.
Here's the surprising part: RLUSD is now close enough to catch PayPal's own stablecoin. PYUSD still leads with a market cap of about $2.8 billion, per CoinMarketCap.
But the gap between the two, once wide, has shrunk to under half a billion dollars. For a token that launched years after PYUSD, that's a fast climb.
Away from the charts, Ripple Labs has quietly become the single largest holding inside C1 Fund Inc. (NYSE: CFND), a publicly traded fund that invests in late-stage digital asset companies.

The news broke via a BSCNews post on X, and the underlying numbers come straight from the fund's own second-quarter 2026 press release.
As of June 30, 2026:
Ripple Labs holds 17.5% of the fund's net assets, its top position.
Kraken's parent company , Payward, comes in close behind at 16.9%.
The fund now holds eleven portfolio companies, up from seven at the end of 2025, after adding prediction-market platform Polymarket this quarter.
Total portfolio investments sit near $33.07 million, about 77.5% of the fund's net assets.
And here's the number that stands out most: an early partial share buyback by Ripple Labs handed the fund a return of roughly 150% in just over four months. That's an unusually fast payoff for a private, late-stage holding.
None of this directly pushes the XRP token's price up or down. RLUSD's growth and a fund's portfolio weighting are separate from XRP itself.
But together, they paint a picture of Ripple's infrastructure gaining real institutional weight, right as XRP opens the month in the green.
Anyone following XRP news today will want to watch two things next: whether RLUSD keeps closing the gap on PYUSD and whether XRP's early-September strength has legs.
