Proposal VIP-003 puts a 150,000 TPS protocol upgrade to a token-holder vote, leaving the decision on whether Venom adopts the new architecture up to its community.
Abu Dhabi, UAE – June 5, 2026 – Venom DAO has opened community voting on VIP-003, a governance proposal that would migrate the Venom network to a next-generation architecture. Rather than rolling the upgrade out by Foundation decision, Venom has given the final say to its community, which now has the voting period to review the proposal and cast votes through the network's on-chain governance portal.
The proposal concerns a new protocol that the Foundation says is ready for mainnet deployment. It is designed to deliver throughput of 150,000 transactions per second, sub-second finality, advanced dynamic sharding, and an improved proof-of-stake consensus model, while retaining full backward compatibility with the applications, contracts, and assets already running on the network.
The throughput figure is consistent with a closed-network stress test the Foundation completed in 2025, in which the next-generation protocol processed 150,000 TPS. VIP-003 would move that protocol from testnet into production on the live network.
The proposal also reflects Venom's wider shift toward community-led decision-making, something that has taken hold since Venom DAO was established in 2025. Putting a core infrastructure decision to a token-holder vote places the governance layer in charge of one of the network's most consequential technical choices to date.
To encourage participation, every wallet that votes on VIP-003 will be eligible for 7,777 XP on venom.network during Season 6 of Venom Quests, the network's ongoing community rewards program. The Foundation has also invited holders to submit questions on the proposal, which it will compile into a public FAQ.
The full proposal and voting interface are available at dao.venom.network.
"The protocol is ready for mainnet. We have built and validated it. The decision to adopt it now sits with the community. A network that aims to support global financial infrastructure should let its participants govern its most important upgrades." – Christopher Louis Tsu, CEO, Venom Foundation
