Latest crypto news: Forest Road Vault has teamed up with Perena to launch the sUSD-FR Solana vault, the firm’s first on-chain product outside Ethereum. The update was announced on October 26, 2026.
WallStreetX also covered the news, noting that the launch expands the lender’s DeFi footprint. The goal is on-chain yield from private credit, not token rewards.

According to Perena, its Vault as a Service lets outside managers launch their own products on audited infrastructure without writing custom contracts. Built-in tools include net asset value accounting, withdrawal limits, time locks, and circuit breakers.

Forest Road, a specialty finance firm founded in 2018, handles origination, underwriting, and servicing. It lends against real collateral in media and entertainment, renewable energy, and digital assets. Borrower interest payments create the yield.

On Ethereum, the firm already runs an Ethereum credit protocol built on USDfr and sUSDfr, with first-loss capital posted by Forest Road.
Private credit often locks capital for years. The sUSD-FR Solana vault turns that position into a transferable token. Where markets and integrations support it, holders can trade the token or pledge it as collateral and borrow against the position, without waiting for loans to mature.

Yield comes from interest on the loan book, not token emissions, which sets it apart from typical DeFi yield products. Returns are variable and depend on performance.
Not everyone can get in. Only eligible investors outside the U.S. can join, and only in permitted jurisdictions once onboarding is done. U.S. persons are left out because the token has no registration under U.S. securities laws and the launch is not an offer to them.
Read the terms on Perena’s earn page before doing anything else. They spell out what holders can and cannot do with the token.
Principal is at risk, and yields are not guaranteed.
Credit, liquidity, operational, and smart-contract risks apply.
Redemption can face delay, gating, or suspension.
Borrowing against the token adds leverage and liquidation risk.
The launch adds a private credit option to the Solana RWA market. It shows how lenders can reach stablecoin users without building contracts themselves.
The key test is liquidity. A transferable token only helps if buyers, markets, and lending integrations exist, and those depend on legal limits for eligible holders.
For now, the sUSD-FR Solana vault is a restricted, credit-driven product, not a risk-free yield play. Investors should verify the terms and track crypto updates for later liquidity news.
