XRP News Today: XRP Price Prediction Hangs on Fed Rate and CLARITY Act

XRP news today centers on two big events landing within 24 hours of each other. XRP price sits near $1.3762, up 0.81% over the past 24 hours.

Traders are watching the Senate's CLARITY Act vote and the Fed's rate decision, both set to land back to back this week. Cynthia Lummis Says 'Big Things Are Coming'. This XRP price prediction breaks down what each one means and why the timing matters.

XRP Price Today: What's Happening Right Now?

XRP is trading close to $1.3762 right now, a small gain from the day before.

Futures volume over the past 24 hours sits at $2.25 billion. Open interest is up 2.31% to $2.91 billion, showing traders are adding new positions rather than just closing old ones.

The bigger story isn't the small daily move. It's what happens over the next 48 hours.

Two separate events are set to hit the market this week. One is regulatory. One is monetary policy. They are not related, but both could shake up sentiment hard.

XRP News Today: How Does the CLARITY Act Vote Affect XRP Price?

Senate Republicans have released what they're calling their "last, best, and final" draft of the Crypto Clarity Act. It includes an ethics proposal backed by President Trump.

The bill heads to a critical Senate vote on Tuesday, September 15. It needs 60 votes to advance, meaning it needs support from across the aisle, not just from Republicans.

Here's why crypto traders care:

  • If the bill advances: Clearer market structure rules for crypto could reduce regulatory uncertainty that has weighed on XRP for years, given Ripple's history of legal battles with US regulators.

  • If the bill stalls: Uncertainty continues, and the market may read a failed vote as a setback for the broader push toward crypto regulation.

Senator Cynthia Lummis added fuel to the speculation, posting "Big things are coming" on X ahead of the vote. She did not spell out exactly what she meant, but many in the crypto community are reading it as a nod to the CLARITY Act.Senator Cynthia Lummis added posting "Big things are coming

XRP Price Forecast: Fed Rate Hike Odds Sit at 86.5%

The Federal Open Market Committee meets September 15 and 16, right after the latest US CPI print.

Data from the FedWatch Tool shows an 86.5% chance the Fed moves its target rate from the current 350 to 375 basis point range up to 375 to 400 basis points, a 25 basis point hike. Only 13.5% of odds point to no change.

That's a sharp swing in expectations over the past month. Rate hike odds have nearly doubled in four weeks, and that shift alone has been enough to pressure risk assets.

A rate hike could put pressure on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP if markets have not already priced it in. The Bank of Japan is also expected to raise rates on September 18, which may strengthen the yen and add pressure on US assets tied to the yen carry trade.Fed Rate Hike Odds

Three major decisions land in four days: CLARITY Act on the 15th, the Fed on the 16th, BOJ on the 18th. The market thinks it knows what happens next. The bigger moves could come from what it doesn't expect.

XRP News Today: What's Behind the RLUSD Growth Story?

While XRP price has cooled off from its recent highs, Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD has been climbing fast.

RLUSD supply hit a fresh all-time high of $2.4 billion this week, up more than 50% in a month. Ripple's Treasury arm now says it serves over 1,200 corporate CFOs processing $13 trillion a year.

Supply is split between XRP Ledger, at $1 billion, and Ethereum, at $1.4 billion. Daily volume has climbed sharply too, from around $200 million in January to about $750 million now.

The XRP Ledger is now the industry's 11th-largest stablecoin chain by this measure, though the ranking is still developing.

Separately, Ripple has flagged a $3.1 trillion opportunity tied to using XRP as collateral for institutional credit through the XLS-66 feature. RLUSD supply hit a fresh all-time high of $2.4 billion this week

Global securities lending already carries roughly $3.1 trillion in average balances on loan, and Ripple's pitch is that XRP could plug into that market.

Evernorth has confirmed it intends to use XLS-66 as a core part of its XRP strategy. Ripple has suggested that native XRP lending could eventually unlock a multi-billion-dollar annual yield opportunity, though that outcome hasn't been confirmed yet.

XRP Price Analysis: What Does the Chart Show?

XRP has corrected about 20% over the past three weeks, falling from $1.70 to near $1.35.

Part of the pullback looks like profit-taking. Whale wallets sold or redistributed roughly 90 million XRP over the past week.

Network activity slowed sharply too, with daily active addresses falling 90.18%, from 388,492 down to 38,163.

Despite the whale selling and the drop in network activity, XRP has found support near $1.35, a level where 2.29 billion tokens previously changed hands.

Chart watcher Ali Charts is tracking a descending triangle on the XRP hourly chart, with lower highs compressing into the $1.31 to $1.35 support zone. The key confirmation level is $1.38.

If XRP holds the $1.31 to $1.35 zone and reclaims $1.38, the setup points toward a push to the triangle's apex, with room to run toward $1.60 and potentially $1.68 if momentum builds.

If XRP fails to hold that zone instead, the triangle could break down, which chart traders would read as a bearish signal, opening the door to lower levels.XRP has found support near $1.35

XRP Price Prediction: What Comes Next for XRP?

This week stacks up three catalysts most traders don't usually see on the same clock: a Senate vote, a Fed decision, and a central bank meeting overseas.

They're unrelated events, but they all feed into the same broader question. Will risk appetite hold up as the CLARITY Act vote and the Fed's rate call land back-to-back?

The $1.31 to $1.38 range is the zone to watch. A clean break in either direction, paired with how these three events land, will likely set the tone for XRP price heading into the back half of September.
