Solana Meme Coin Kimchi Crashes 98% After Pumpfun Co-Founder Repost

The Solana meme coin Kimchi hit a market cap near $15M, then slid to about $288K. A QR code post on X started the rally. Deleting that post started the fall.

The token still trades with $9.0M in 24-hour volume. So what happened, and what do the charts say now?

What Happened to Kimchi Coin After the Pumpfun Repost?

Crypto trader Kimchi (@kimchi1x) posted a promo image with a QR code. It showed a street poster reading "project kimchi," with a pill graphic and the code.

The code linked to a new memecoin called Project Kimchi.Crypto trader Kimchi (@kimchi1x) posted a promo image with a QR code

Pumpfun co-founder Alon then reposted it. The market cap briefly reached about $15M.

Alon later removed his repost. Kimchi deleted the original post and took "pumpfun" out of his bio.

Alon had earlier called Kimchi the first trader to truly bridge crypto and pop culture. Neither side has explained the deleted post. SolanaFloor said a suspected account hack remains unconfirmed.

Why Did Kimchi Token Crash 98% in 5 Minutes?

Heavy selling hit right after the repost came down. SolanaFloor reported the token fell below $500K within 5 minutes.SolanaFloor reported the token fell below $500K within 5 minutes

The 5-minute chart shows one tall green candle, then a tall red one. The price peaked above $0.014 and dropped fast.

One chart shared by SolanaFloor showed a low near $170.6K. Another showed a market cap of $164K at one point.

After that, volume dried up. The token moved sideways for hours.

The +588% looks odd next to a 98% crash. It likely compares today's price with the very first launch trades.

Other trackers differ a little. Wu Blockchain's GMGN chart showed $284K and $9.3M in 24-hour volume. What Is Kimchi Coin's Price and Market Cap Right Now?

Will Kimchi Coin Recover After the 98% Crash?

Nobody can say for sure. The chart shows a classic memecoin pattern: a fast pump, a hard sell-off, then a flat range.

There are small signs of life. The token is up 4.79% over one hour and 59.92% over six hours. That is a bounce from post-crash lows, not a trend change.

For the Solana meme coin Kimchi, a short-term relief move is possible if buyers return. But there is no confirmed bullish reversal yet.

Buy volume of $4.5M against sell volume of $4.4M shows a close fight. Neither side has clear control.

Which Kimchi Coin Price Levels Should Traders Watch?

Traders are watching a few zones on the 5-minute chart. The table below uses the current price of $0.0002933 and a supply of about 982.8M tokens.

A bounce needs steady buying volume and a hold above the current range. If buyers step back, the price could slide toward $0.00025 or lower.

These are chart levels, not promises. Memecoins can skip past them in minutes.

Is Kimchi Coin Safe to Buy? Key Risks Explained

Liquidity is only $52K. That is small next to $9.0M in daily volume, so large orders can move the price hard.

The story behind the token is also unclear. A deleted post, a removed repost, and a possible hack all add doubt.

The first run showed how fast a memecoin can lose 98% of its value. Another sharp move in either direction would not be a surprise.
