Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are all trading higher today, and traders want to know why. It's a green day across the board, a shift from the choppy price action seen earlier in the week.
The wider market is up as well, sitting near $2.87 trillion. This isn't just one coin catching a bid — it looks like broad-based buying across the top assets.
Bitcoin is pushing back above $84,000. Ethereum is holding firm above $2,650. XRP is sitting comfortably above $1.50 after a run of bullish calls from chart watchers.
Here's a closer look at what's driving each coin higher, and the price levels traders are watching next.
Bitcoin has bounced back after a rough stretch. After sliding down to a low near $82,800, buyers have stepped back in and pushed the price back above $84,000.
Even with the recent volatility, sentiment hasn't turned sour. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index sits at 71 today, unchanged from yesterday, and up sharply from 56 a week ago — firmly in Greed territory, suggesting traders are leaning bullish.
As per Santiment data, bigger players appear to be accumulating. Over the past 96 hours, large wallets reportedly picked up around 30,269 BTC, worth close to $2.57 billion — a sign of confidence from bigger players even during the recent pullback.
Some chart watchers point to a double bottom pattern on Bitcoin, with $82,500 acting as the neckline. With that support holding, the next target some are floating is $100,000.
There's also a seasonal angle. Bitcoin has closed October in the green in 10 of the last 13 years. With October just days away, that history is part of why some traders are calling this period "Uptober."
None of this guarantees a repeat. Past performance is just past performance.
Ethereum's story right now is about one number: $2,540. That zone, roughly $2,530 to $2,540, became a major support and resistance area after Ethereum's last rally — and it's held.
Ethereum pushed as high as $2,800 before sellers stepped in, pulled back toward that old resistance zone, and found buyers there.
Analyst Wealthmanager has flagged $2,539 as the level to watch. With buyers stepping in and defending it, that opens the door for another run at recent highs.
The bigger picture target some are discussing sits near $3,391. But that's a longer path. Ethereum would need to hold $2,540, reclaim $2,800, and build strength above $3,000 first.
XRP has analysts talking. Chart watcher EGRAG has pointed to a pattern that echoes what XRP did back in 2016, a move some describe as using a 50x multiple. Applied loosely to today's price, that kind of run would put XRP near the $50 range. That's a big, speculative idea, not a forecast.
Analyst Ali Martinez has a more grounded read. He says XRP just finished the right shoulder of an inverse head and shoulders pattern, following a 27.6% rally that took price from $1.25 to $1.58.
Ali Charts adds that a clean break above $1.60 could open a path toward $2, which would mark roughly a 30% move from current levels.
Big holders appear to be adding too. Reports suggest whale wallets have bought more than $2 billion worth of XRP recently, which traders often read as a vote of confidence.
Veteran trader Peter Brandt, who has traded charts for nearly 50 years, has also weighed in. Looking at long-term trend channels and moving averages, he suggested XRP could eventually reach $5.40, a 257% gain from current prices. Brandt was careful to say this is his personal chart reading, not trading advice.
Asset | Current Level | Recent Move | Key Level to Watch |
Bitcoin (BTC) | Below $84,000 | Down 5.24% since Sept 21 | $82,500 support |
Ethereum (ETH) | Above $2,650 | Pulled back from $2,800 | $2,539 to $2,540 |
XRP | Above $1.50 | Up nearly 2% today | $1.60 breakout level |
On September 24 (ET), U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded total net inflows of $191 million, marking six consecutive days of net inflows. Spot Ethereum ETFs posted $66.01 million in net inflows, extending their inflow streak to five days.
XRP is having a strong month. Spot XRP ETFs pulled in $14.89M today, marking the third-highest daily inflow of September. Cumulative net inflow sits at $1.76B, total value traded came in at $44.22M, and total net assets reached $1.70B, or 1.77% of XRP's total value. Bitwise led with $9.91M, and Franklin Templeton added $4.98M.
Today's move shows renewed strength across the board, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP all trading higher together.
The Fear & Greed Index staying in Greed territory suggests optimism is building. But leverage in this market remains high, and rapid moves can cut both ways fast.
Anyone watching these levels should keep an eye on whether Bitcoin holds $82,500, whether Ethereum defends $2,540, and whether XRP can clear $1.60. Those three levels look like they'll decide the next move.
