Ripple just gave XRP two reasons to trend today.
Trading volume for the token surged past $3.9B in 24 hours, according to a widely shared post, while Ripple itself confirmed asset managers are already preparing for the XRP Ledger's next major payments upgrade.
XRP Price Today is trading at $1.3823, down 1.96% today, even with all that XRP news.
This XRP price prediction looks at what's really driving the reaction and whether the chart's repeating breakout pattern is about to fire again.
Market data checked on September 20, 2026.
Ripple's trading volume surpassed $3.9B in a 24-hour window.

Ripple says asset managers are already preparing for the XRP Ledger's next major payments upgrade, called Batch V1.1.
The feature lets multiple transactions settle together or fail together, opening the door to institutional use cases like delivery-versus-payment, a settlement method where an asset and its payment are exchanged at the same time to cut counterparty risk.
This is being framed as a bullish adoption signal, though no firm rollout date has been confirmed.
Unlike a typical short squeeze, longs make up about 71% of the 24h liquidations here, meaning today's dip is catching bulls off guard rather than forcing shorts to cover, a sign the pullback has some real selling behind it.

XRP is trading at $1.3823, down on the candle. Back in August, XRP broke out of a falling channel and delivered a 65.26% gain, pushing the price up toward the $1.6955 resistance zone.
Since then, it has been consolidating inside a second falling channel, and today's dip is happening right near the upper edge of that channel.
The chart's measured-move projection now points to a similar-sized move, 65.51%, if the second channel breaks out the same way the first one did.
A move of that size from the current channel would put XRP right at $2.3391, the chart's marked target, well above the nearer resistance levels at $1.5470 and $1.6955."
RSI, a momentum indicator, sits at 53.68, right around the neutral midpoint.
The price is currently in a consolidation phase momentum isn't strongly bullish or bearish, which is typical while the price works through a channel like this one.
The important point is that once the channel breaks to the upside, the view turns bullish based on current market conditions.
$1.2962 to $1.3579, the EMA zone, is the first support to watch. Below that, $1.2879 and $1.1757 are the next levels down if the channel breaks lower.
$1.5470 is the nearest resistance, with $1.6955 above it. Clearing both opens the path toward $2.3391, the chart's projected target.
| Scenario | Trigger | Likely Outcome | Invalidation |
| Pattern repeat | Hold above $1.2962, clear $1.5470 | Push toward $1.6955, then $2.3391 | Close below $1.2879 |
| Range hold | Consolidate inside the channel | Base before next move | Break below $1.1757 |
| Breakdown | Close below $1.2879 | Slide toward $1.1757 | Reclaim $1.3579 |
Possible if this second channel breaks out with a similar force to the first one, which is exactly what the chart's measured-move pattern is projecting.
XRP would need to clear both $1.5470 and $1.6955 first, so it's a multi-stage move rather than something that happens overnight.
According to CoinGabbar analysts , today's news, the volume spike, and the XRPL upgrade tease are genuinely bullish long-term signals, but the chart itself is still mid-consolidation, and today's long-heavy liquidations show some real hesitation at current levels.
$1.5470 is the level that will show whether the second breakout attempt is actually starting.
