The 10 most convenient cryptocurrencies for online casino play

Sending Bitcoin Cash costs about a quarter of a Canadian cent. Sending Tether on Tron, from a wallet with no staked energy, can cost close to C$6. Yet Tether tops this ranking and Bitcoin Cash comes last.

A fee is only one part of convenience. Bitcoin Cash targets one block every 10 minutes, a long wait with a game open. Tether holds its value, but its networks cannot send to each other, so a deposit sent on the wrong one does not arrive.

This ranking scores 10 coins on cost, speed, price stability, ease of use and fit with the limits on the Winz.io payments page, using fee data checked in October 2026. The method is shown below.

How we rated the coins

Each coin receives a mark out of 10 on five criteria, rating it as a payment tool only. The weighted marks add up to a score out of 100. Cost and speed come from protocol documentation and public explorers. Stability reflects 90-day volatility, because a balance in a volatile coin can gain or lose value while you play.

Winz accepts 12 cryptocurrencies, lists every one as instant and leaves the fee column blank for every method. Instant describes Winz’s own processing; the blockchain still needs time to confirm a transfer. Coin prices are from CoinGecko on October 27, 2026, converted at the Bank of Canada’s latest published rate of 1.3993 Canadian dollars per US dollar (October 23).

1. Tether (USDT) and the USDT casino balance

Score: 84.5. A balance in USDT holds its value, because Tether is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar. That is why it tops the list for budget control. Together, USDT and USDC make up roughly 83 per cent of all stablecoin supply, according to Dune data as of June 30, 2026.

The cost depends on the network. On Tron, a sender with no staked energy burns about 6.5 TRX (about C5.95) to a new address. Those figures use the energy price of 100 sun set after Proposal #104 on August 29, 2025. In return, Tron produces a block about every three seconds, so a usdt trc20 casino deposit is recorded quickly.

Winz takes deposits from 20 USDT (about C28 to C$14,000) per transaction. Its USDT casino page sets out the details for this tether casino option.

Watch-out: TRC20 addresses start with “T” and ERC20 addresses with “0x”. Match the network shown in the cashier exactly, as at any of the usdt casinos. Links: tether.to, Tronscan.

2. USD Coin (USDC) as a USD Coin casino option

Score: 83.5. USDC, issued by Circle, has the same one-to-one dollar peg and the same stability as USDT. It scores half a point lower on ease of use, reflecting Tether’s wider reach in everyday wallets: Dune counted about 74.7 million holders of USDT on Tron alone at the end of June 2026.

Dune’s data shows that USDC works mainly as a trading dollar inside crypto markets, while USDT settled most of the on-chain commerce Dune identified in the first half of 2026. For a casino player, the network matters more. USDC sits mostly on Ethereum, and Solana is its second-largest home, according to Dune.

Cost and speed follow that network. On Ethereum, gas stood at 0.082 gwei on Etherscan on October 27, 2026; on Solana, fees are a fraction of a Canadian cent (see the next entry).

Winz’s limits match USDT’s: deposits from 20 USDC (about C28 to C$14,000). The USD Coin casino page lists them.

Watch-out: USDC exists on several chains, so check which one the cashier lists before sending. The same rule applies at all usd coin casinos. Links: Circle, Etherscan, Solscan.

3. Solana (SOL) at a Solana casino

Score: 82.5. Solana is one of only two coins with top marks for both cost and speed. Its software targets a new slot about every 400 milliseconds.

Every transaction pays a base fee of 5,000 lamports (0.000005 SOL, about C0.009) in the 24 hours to October 18, 2026, according to Solana Compass figures published by Birdeye.

Winz accepts deposits from 0.1 SOL (about C7) to 5,000 SOL (about C$699,000) per withdrawal. The Solana casino page covers the details for solana gambling at Winz.

What holds Solana back is price. A SOL balance moves with the market, and its price moved by about 20 per cent over the 30 days to October 27, according to CoinGecko.

Watch-out: priority fees rise when the network is busy. Check a live tracker before sending a large solana crypto casino deposit. Links: solana.com, Solscan.

4. Ethereum (ETH) at an ETH casino

Score: 76.5. Ethereum is far cheaper to send than its reputation suggests. On October 27, 2026, Etherscan’s gas tracker showed 0.082 gwei for a standard transaction, with an estimated wait of about 30 seconds. At that price, a plain ETH transfer of 21,000 gas costs about C$0.006.

Ethereum earns the highest ease-of-use mark on the list alongside Litecoin and Dogecoin. Almost every exchange and wallet supports it, which makes it a straightforward way to gamble with ETH.

Winz accepts deposits from 0.002 ETH (about C32) to 10 ETH (about C$32,300) per withdrawal. The ETH casino page lists the eth casino games available with an ether balance.

The trade-off is volatility. ETH’s price moved by about 15 per cent over the 30 days to October 27, according to CoinGecko, so a balance held for a long session can shrink or grow without a single bet.

Watch-out: gas rises when the network is busy. Check the gas tracker before sending. Links: ethereum.org, Etherscan gas tracker.

5. Tron (TRX) at a Tron casino

Score: 76. Sending TRX itself is close to free. Every Tron account receives 600 free bandwidth points a day, according to TRON’s developer documentation, and a plain TRX transfer uses about 250 to 300 points. The first two transfers each day therefore cost nothing. After that, the network burns about 0.27 TRX (about C$0.12) per transfer.

The contrast with USDT on Tron is sharp. Moving Tether on the same chain burns several TRX, because a token transfer needs energy as well as bandwidth. Blocks arrive about every three seconds.

Tron’s weak point is the Winz cashier. The minimum deposit is 300 TRX (about C7) to 148,000 TRX (about C$67,800). The Tron casino page has the limits, and the same rules apply whenever you bet with Tron there.

Watch-out: players who want to start small at tron casinos will find the 300 TRX floor steep. Compare it with a stablecoin’s C$28 minimum before buying. Links: tron.network, Tronscan.

6. XRP at XRP online casinos

Score: 75.5. XRP ties Solana for speed. The XRP Ledger closes a new ledger about every three to five seconds, according to xrpl.org, and a standard transaction costs a minimum of 0.00001 XRP, a tiny fraction of a Canadian cent.

The catch is the reserve. Every XRP Ledger account must keep a base reserve of 1 XRP, plus 0.2 XRP for each object it owns, such as a trust line or an offer. A new wallet cannot send that reserve, so a little XRP always stays behind.

Winz accepts XRP deposits from 5 XRP (about C9,100) per withdrawal. Winz’s page for XRP online casinos sets out how its xrp casino online cashier works.

Watch-out: payments to shared addresses often need a destination tag, a number that tells the receiver which user the money belongs to. A missing tag can stop funds from being credited to the right account. Fill in the tag field whenever the cashier shows one. Links: xrpl.org, XRPScan.

7. Litecoin (LTC) at a Litecoin casino

Score: 75. Almost every major exchange and wallet supports Litecoin, and its fees are close to nothing. SoChain’s fee guide showed that on October 19, 2026, a rate of one litoshi per virtual byte was enough for the next block, so a simple payment cost 141 litoshis (0.00000141 LTC, about C$0.0001).

Speed is where it gives up points. Litecoin produces a block about every 2.5 minutes, quicker than Bitcoin but slow next to Solana or XRP.

Winz accepts deposits from 0.01 LTC (about C15.70) to 100 LTC (about C$7,850) per withdrawal. The Litecoin casino page lists the limits, which apply to everything from litecoin slots to table games. The 100 LTC ceiling matters only for the largest ltc casino withdrawals.

Watch-out: a deposit can take a few minutes to show while the next block arrives. Wait for that block rather than sending a second transfer, here or at other litecoin casinos. Links: litecoin.org, Blockchair.

8. Dogecoin (DOGE) at a Dogecoin casino

Score: 73. Dogecoin targets one block a minute and costs very little to move. Since Dogecoin Core 1.14.5, the wallet’s default recommended fee has been 0.01 DOGE (about C$0.001) per kilobyte, and a simple payment uses less than a kilobyte. Our explainer on Dogecoin transaction fees and speed covers the mechanics.

Winz has the lowest entry point on the list for DOGE: deposits start at 1 DOGE (about C10.78) to 100,000 DOGE (about C$10,800). The Dogecoin casino page has the details for anyone weighing dogecoin casinos.

Like Ethereum and Litecoin, Dogecoin earns a 9 for ease of use, reflecting broad exchange and wallet support.

Watch-out: price. Dogecoin has the lowest stability mark in this ranking, and its price moved by about 21 per cent over the 30 days to October 27, according to CoinGecko. At a doge casino, a balance can lose value between deposits without a single losing bet. Links: dogecoin.com, Blockchair.

9. Cardano (ADA) for Cardano casino games

Score: 71.5. Cardano’s fee is set by formula: 44 lovelace per byte plus a fixed 155,381 lovelace, according to Cardano’s developer documentation. That comes to about 0.17 ADA (about C$0.05) for a standard transaction. There is no fee market, so the fee does not rise when the network is busy. A block arrives about every 20 seconds on average, according to cardano.org.

Cardano scores well on cashier fit. Winz accepts deposits from 20 ADA (about C2.56) to 460,000 ADA (about C$130,700) per withdrawal. At October 27 prices, that 9 ADA floor is the lowest withdrawal minimum on the list in Canadian dollars. The Cardano casino games page lists the limits.

Watch-out: every transaction output must hold a minimum amount of ADA, set by a protocol parameter of 4,310 lovelace per byte of output data as of October 2026. A wallet may refuse a transfer that would leave a very small amount behind, so keep a little extra ADA in reserve. Links: cardano.org, Cardanoscan.

10. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) at a Bitcoin Cash gambling casino

Score: 67.5. On cost alone, Bitcoin Cash would sit near the top. The network allows 32MB blocks, and the median fee in blocks on August 21, 2026, was 0.00000613 BCH on Blockchain.com’s explorer, about C$0.0024.

It ranks last because of speed. Bitcoin Cash targets one block every 10 minutes, the slowest of the 10 coins here, so a deposit can sit unconfirmed for longer than a hand of blackjack takes to play.

Winz accepts deposits from 0.001 BCH (about C19.70) to 20 BCH (about C$7,880) per withdrawal. That 0.001 BCH deposit floor is the second-lowest entry point on the list, after Dogecoin’s. Winz’s Bitcoin Cash gambling casino page lists the bitcoin cash casino games available.

Watch-out: Bitcoin Cash uses the CashAddr address format as well as the legacy format, and the two look different. Copy the address exactly as the cashier shows it. Links: bitcoincash.org, Blockchair.

Where’s Bitcoin?

Bitcoin produces a block about every 10 minutes, the same slow rhythm that puts Bitcoin Cash last. Fees are low at the moment: on October 22, 2026, about one satoshi per virtual byte was enough for the next block, according to mempool.space data compiled by MiningDisrupt, so a typical 140-vbyte payment cost about C$0.16. They rise whenever blocks fill up. Winz does accept Bitcoin, but on a list built on convenience, slow blocks and unpredictable fees keep it out.

Which coin suits which player

Three kinds of player stand out. Those who set a budget and want it to stay fixed should start with a stablecoin. A C100 an hour later, which is not true of any other coin on the list.

Those who make frequent small transfers will get the most from Solana, XRP and Tron. All three confirm in seconds and cost little or nothing to send, with two caveats: Tron’s 300 TRX deposit minimum and the 1 XRP reserve that stays in every XRP wallet.

Those who care most about where they can buy and store coins should look at Litecoin and Ethereum. Both have the widest wallet support on the list, and both were cheap to send in October 2026. Ethereum’s fees are the ones to watch, since they rise with demand.
