Crypto ETF News Today: Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana Flows

Money moved out of crypto products in a big way on October 22, and most of the numbers are red.

Crypto ETF News Today is mainly a story of selling: Bitcoin funds lost $635.49 million in one day, Ethereum funds lost $110.50 million, and Solana funds lost $8.51 million.

Only XRP products finished with a gain, and it was a modest $3.55 million.

CoinGecko Live data

The wider market looked soft as well. CoinGecko shows the total crypto market cap at about $2.84 trillion, down 1.1%, while 24-hour trading volume dropped 12.8% to $77.565 billion. Here is the full picture, coin by coin.

Key Takeaways

  • BTC funds saw the biggest exit, with BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC leading the outflow.

  • Ethereum products fell more sharply in price than Bitcoin products did.

  • XRP was the only category with an inflow, while Solana products stayed in the red.

Bitcoin ETF Outflow Today: Big Names Take A Hit

Spot Bitcoin funds recorded a daily outflow of $635.49 million on October 22, based on SoSoValue data.

Total assets now sit at $104.71 billion, and BTC was priced at $81,494.39 on the chart. On a chart that starts from September 28, this is the deepest red bar.

Crypto ETF News Today also shows that none of the top five products escaped:

  • IBIT (BlackRock): -$254.05 million

  • FBTC (Fidelity): -$217.46 million

  • ARKB (Ark & 21Shares): -$109.43 million

  • GBTC (Grayscale): -$29.53 million

  • BITB (Bitwise): -$27.35 million

These five add up to about $637.8 million, a little above the total, so a few smaller funds must have taken in small inflows.

Their share prices fell between 3.64% and 3.72%. IBIT also handled $2.00 billion in trading value, far ahead of FBTC at $291.76 million.

One more detail: GBTC charges a 1.50% fee, while IBIT charges 0.25%. Over the long run, the gap is huge.

IBIT shows a cumulative inflow of $66.24 billion, FBTC shows $10.37 billion, and BITB shows $2.03 billion, while GBTC sits at a cumulative outflow of $28.00 billion.

Ethereum ETF Outflow Today: A Sharper Fall Than Bitcoin

Ethereum products lost $110.50 million, according to SoSoValue. Total assets are $14.57 billion, with Ethereum priced at $2,387.20 on the chart.

Every fund on the list ended lower:

  • ETHA (BlackRock): -$75.45 million

  • ETHB (BlackRock): -$17.17 million

  • ETH (Grayscale): -$10.69 million

  • ETHE (Grayscale): -$9.56 million

Share prices dropped between 4.45% and 4.52%, which is steeper than the BTC side.

ETHA closed the data at $53.88, ETHB at $30.66, Grayscale’s ETH at $22.74, and ETHE at $19.11.

ETHA is still the largest, with $7.78 billion in net assets and $12.26 billion in cumulative net inflow.

ETHE tells a different story, with a cumulative net outflow of $5.50 billion and a 2.50% fee. The daily chart shows red bars appearing often since early October, so this was not a one-off.

XRP ETF Inflow Today: Small But Green

XRP products took in $3.55 million, as the SoSoValue XRP shows. Total assets are $1.49 billion, and XRP was priced at $1.31.

The amount looks tiny next to BTC, but it matters because every other category lost money that day.

The chart, which starts from August 13, also shows mostly green bars with only a few red days, so XRP products have held up better than the rest.

On CoinGecko, XRP itself slipped 1.45% in 24 hours and 0.67% over seven days, with a market cap of $83.68 billion, which makes the inflow even more interesting.

Solana ETF Outflow Today: The Red Streak Continues

Solana products saw an outflow of $8.51 million per SoSoValue. Total assets stand at $1.61 billion, with Solana priced at $103.63.

Looking at the chart since October 5, almost every bar is red, and only one thin green bar appears near the end.

The deepest drop came around October 16, at roughly $12 million. On CoinGecko, Solana trades at $104.36, down 0.66% in 24 hours and 1.19% in seven days, with a market cap of $61.53 billion.

To keep the scale in mind, today’s Solana outflow is only about 1.3% of the Bitcoin outflow, so the sums are small, yet the direction is clear.

Final Take

Crypto ETF News Today shows a cautious mood, led by Bitcoin and Ethereum exits, with XRP as the lone positive.

The gap between Bitcoin’s $635.49 million exit and XRP’s $3.55 million gain shows how much money still sits at the top of the market.

One day does not set a trend, and flows can turn quickly. Readers should watch the next few sessions on SoSoValue before drawing conclusions.
