The crypto market is under pressure on October 22. Bitcoin trades near $82,808, down 1.45% on the day, after clawing back toward the top of its recent range. The $85,000 level is now the big test.
Ethereum sits at $2,444, and XRP is near $1.35. Fresh Iran news and the Fed meeting on October 28 are driving the mood.
Crypto Rover reported that BTC fell below $83,000 and Ethereum below $2,500. Signs point to renewed U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. Mixed results from Tesla and Meta also pushed Nasdaq futures lower and revived doubts about the AI trade.
Peter Schiff added an inflation warning. He said export prices rose 2.2% in a month, about 30% annualized, and producer prices rose 1.3%, about 17% annualized. Oil hit a five-month high of $110. Those are his figures and his view.
Bitcoin is stuck in a descending channel after being rejected near $87,404. It keeps making lower highs. The RSI at 51.37 is neutral.
If BTC loses $82,000 to $80,000, the next stops are $78,000 and $75,000. If it clears $84,500 to $85,000, $87,404 comes into view. A confirmed break there could open $90,000.
Ali Charts called $86,500 an immediate target when BTC traded near $84,535. That bounce has faded.
Asset | Price | RSI (14) | Support | Resistance | Bullish Trigger |
Bitcoin | $82,808 | 51.37 | $82,000 to $80,000, then $78,000, $75,000 | $84,500 to $85,000, then $87,404 | Break above $87,404 opens $90,000 |
Ethereum | $2,444 | 43.17 | $2,350 to $2,370, then $2,300 to $2,250 | $2,500 to $2,540 | Daily close above $2,540 |
XRP | $1.3464 | 44.75 | $1.28 to $1.30, then $1.25 to $1.22 | $1.38 to $1.40 | Daily close above $1.40 to $1.42 |
ETH is pulling back from the $2,750 to $2,800 zone. It sits above a support box at $2,350 to $2,370, which lines up with a rising trendline. The RSI at 43.17 shows weaker momentum.
A daily close above $2,540 could point to $2,650 and $2,750. Ali Charts listed $2,700. A break of support puts $2,300 to $2,250 in play.
XRP bounced from $1.28 to $1.30 and is testing the channel's upper line near $1.37 to $1.40. A strong close above $1.40 to $1.42 could aim at $1.45 to $1.48, with $1.50 as a major hurdle. Ali Charts named $1.55.
If XRP is rejected, $1.30 and then $1.25 to $1.22 are the levels to watch.

Santiment says open interest is rising. Bitcoin is near $23.4 billion, Ethereum $15.5 billion, and Solana $2.7 billion. Ethereum shows the clearest climb since August. Solana is more volatile, and Bitcoin is well below its spring highs.
That points to more altcoin speculation, with BTC as the anchor. But leverage cuts both ways and can fuel bigger liquidation cascades.

It looks neutral to bearish in the short term. BTC and XRP trade in falling channels, and ETH is below $2,540. ETF inflows and whale activity give some support.
Many traders will likely wait for the Fed and Iran headlines. Nobody knows which way it breaks.
