Gold has been on a tear lately, and PAX Gold, the token backed 1:1 by physical gold, has been riding that move right along with it. After running up sharply through August and into September, PAXG has cooled off and is now sitting in a pullback, right at a level that could decide whether the bigger rally has more room to run.
This PAX Gold price prediction looks at where PAXG stands today, the zones worth watching on the daily chart, and what it would actually take for price to work its way toward $5,000. Stick around for the levels that matter most.
Chart data checked on September 22, 2026.
PAXG spent most of August building a base before breaking out sharply in early September, running from the low $4,300 up to a high near $4,674 in a matter of days.
That rally has since cooled off, with the price pulling back through most of September and now PAXG Price Today trading around $4,313, down 1.17% on the day. Price is currently sitting almost right on top of the EMA cluster, with the shorter EMA at $4,361.88 and the longer EMA at $4,354.91, both just overhead, acting as the first hurdle for any renewed push higher.
Below the current price, a support zone around $4,250.53 has held on prior tests and remains the level bulls need to defend to keep the broader uptrend intact.
Level Type | Price |
Major Resistance | $5,000.02 |
Resistance (prior swing high) | $4,674.10 |
Immediate Price Reference | $4,313.24 |
Key Support | $4,250.53 |
Bull case: Reclaiming the EMA cluster near $4,354.91 to $4,361.88 and holding above $4,250.53 keeps the pullback looking like consolidation rather than a reversal, with the prior high at $4,674.10 as the next real test.
Bear case: A close below $4,250.53 would break the current support structure and suggest the September rally is fading rather than pausing, opening room for a deeper slide.
$5,000.02 is the highest level marked on the chart, and it's a big round number that gold-linked assets often gravitate toward once momentum builds. But getting there isn't a straight line from here.
PAXG would first need to clear the EMA cluster just overhead, then reclaim and hold above the prior swing high at $4,674.10, before the $5,000 zone becomes a realistic target rather than a distant one.
That's a multi-stage climb, not a single move, and each level along the way has already acted as resistance once before.
According to CoinGabbar analysts, The pullback since the early September peak looks like a normal cooling-off period so far, not a breakdown, since PAXG is still holding above its key support zone.
The real tell will be how price reacts at the EMA cluster over the next few sessions: reclaiming it would put the $4,674.10 retest back on the table, while rejection there would favor more sideways chop before the next real move.
