Peter Brandt XRP Warning: Why He Sees $2.16 but Fears Heavy Supply

Peter Brandt XRP comments are getting a lot of attention on October 5, 2026. The veteran trader spotted a possible cup and handle with a measured target near $2.16.

But he also warned that XRP has a "TON" of overhead supply to work through. XRP trades near $1.51 today.

What Is the Peter Brandt XRP Target?

Brandt says he sees a cup and handle on the XRP chart. On a larger time frame, he thinks it might be the right shoulder of an inverted head and shoulders.

His measured move points to $2.16. That number is the height of the pattern, based on daily closing prices, projected upward.

He is careful about it. In his words, targets are not sacred, and charts often turn into something else.Brandt says he sees a cup and handle on the XRP chart.

What Is Overhead Supply and Why Is It Bad for XRP?

Overhead supply means many holders bought at higher prices. When price climbs back to those levels, some may sell to break even.

Brandt calls this a negative for XRP. He also calls the right shoulder poorly formed and short, so it may need more time.

Which Crypto Does Peter Brandt Like Better Than XRP?

Brandt compared several coins over the same period. Here is what he said:

Coin

Brandt's View

XRP

Heavy overhead supply to work through

XMR

Supply absorbed, "clear sailing" ahead, his favorite by far

SOL

A cup and handle on "a different level" than XRP

ETH

Big congestion, but less overhead supply than XRP

XLM

Has overhead supply, but not as much as XRP

What Is the XRP Price Today?

XRP is around $1.51. It has moved above a falling trendline that held price down for several days.

One analyst says that if $1.50 holds as support, XRP could head toward $1.62. That is about 7% above today's price.XRP appears to have broken above the descending resistanc

A drop under $1.50 would weaken the breakout. A move below $1.47 would put the setup in doubt.

What Is the XRP Cup and Handle Pattern?

A cup and handle is a bullish shape: a rounded bottom, then a small pause called the handle. One analyst says the cup began in January near $1.60. XRP fell for months, then recovered to $1.61 to $1.70 in September.

Now XRP sits near $1.50 under that same resistance. In this view, that is the handle.

The high level is $1.70. A move above it could open the way to $1.80, then $2.00 or more. Nothing is guaranteed.

Can XRP Reach $2.16? What Traders Are Watching

Three things matter most in the short run:

  • Whether $1.50 stays firm as support

  • A push through $1.562 and $1.618

  • A daily close above $1.70

The $2.16 target needs much more work. Supply between $1.60 and $2.00 could slow any rally, just as Brandt warned.
