XRP News Today: Crash and Wall Street Selloff Shake Crypto Markets

An XRP crash of almost 8% hit traders over the past 24 hours, just as US stocks had their worst day since April 2025.

The token now trades near $1.20, and a $2.8 trillion wipeout figure is spreading online.

The wider market felt it too: according to coingecko market status, total crypto market cap fell 5.6% to $2.54 trillion, the CMC20 index of the top 20 coins dropped 6.2% to 154.97, spot crypto funds saw $298.80 million in net outflows, and the Fear & Greed Index sank to 31, which sits in Fear territory.

This XRP News Today report checks the numbers, explains the midterm link, and shows how Wall Street's funds look after the drop.

The Xrp News Today price crash cut about $6.2B from market value in a day (our math). Trading volume barely changed, so the drop did not come with a surge in activity.

Wall Street's Worst Day Since April 2025

The S&P 500 closed at 7,688.62 on November 4, according to the St. Louis Fed's data series, which carries S&P Dow Jones Indices data. On Thursday it fell 4.36% to 7,353.73, a loss of about 335 points (our math).

Market reports say the Nasdaq entered correction territory, meaning more than 10% below its peak, and chip stocks fell hardest.

A key chip index lost about 12%, its worst day since March 2020, and volume reached 26.9 billion shares against a 17.7 billion average.

Estimates of the value lost range from about $2.8T to $3T, depending on which companies are counted.

We found no official tally and could not confirm a record. In percentage terms, April 2025 was worse.

The Midterm Link: A Rally on Wednesday, a Reversal on Thursday

After the midterm votes, stocks jumped on November 4, and the Dow added about 1,500 points, its best day since April 2025.

Thursday erased that gain. The S&P 500 rose 1.58%, from 7,568.92 to 7,688.62, based on the same official series .

Market reports say Thursday's selloff followed Democratic wins, with investors worried about tougher AI rules and slower data center building. Other reports call it a broad tech rout.

No official source names one cause, and moves this big usually have several.

The token moved with stocks on both days. It rose 2.14% in the earlier 24-hour reading, then fell 7.69% in the latest one (our comparison).

That is about 1.8 times the S&P 500 drop, though crypto trades around the clock and the windows differ. This shows both fell together, not that stocks caused the fall.

The Xrp News Today came even though Ripple's CEO and chief legal officer said earlier this week that pro-crypto candidates won across both parties.

The Last Time Stocks Fell This Hard

Thursday was the worst day since April 4, 2025, when the S&P 500 fell 5.97% on tariff fears.

March 16, 2020, was far larger: the Dow lost 2,997 points, or 12.9%, and the S&P 500 about 12%. The sources reviewed do not show how the token behaved on those days.

Wall Street's Funds After the Drop

Grayscale's fund, GXRP, filed its quarterly report with the SEC. It lists 3,350,100 shares outstanding on November 2, per its 10-Q filing.

On September 30, it held 65.44M tokens worth $97.4M at $1.49 each. At $1.20, the same tokens would be worth about $78.5M (our math; holdings may have changed).

The fund charges 0.35%, cut from 2.5% when it began trading on November 24, 2025. No shares were redeemed in the third quarter, while 540,000 were created.

Net assets rose 70% in the third quarter as the price climbed from $1.04 to $1.49. Over nine months, however, they fell 56%, as holders redeemed 5.33M shares.

Visionary Wealth Advisors' 13F filing, filed November 4, lists 19,184 Bitwise XRP ETF shares and 19,005 REX-Osprey XRP ETF shares.

The table reports values to the nearest dollar, so they are worth $319,030 and $230,911, about $550K combined, not millions.

For scale, its largest holding, Apple, is $132.6M. The filing covers holdings as of September 30, before the latest drop.

GXRP's tokens equal about 0.1% of circulating supply (our math), so Wall Street exposure exists but remains small.

The Bottom Line

The Xrp News Today followed a harsh day for US stocks, and the midterm link is a market theory, not a proven cause. Check live prices before acting. This is information, not financial advice.
