Can ZEC reach $2,000? One trader says it can by the end of the year, but ZEC trades at $1,282.32, still inside a range it has held since early October.
In this Zcash Price Prediction, the NU7 upgrade is the main headline. Today's candle spiked to $1,333.34, above the $1,315.06 range top, then fell back.
Market data checked on November 6, 2026, at 09:25 IST.
The Zcash price today is down 2.6% to $1,282.32 in 24 hours, underperforming a broader crypto market selloff primarily driven by a leveraged long liquidation cascade. The move coincides with the activation of its NU7 network upgrade, which introduced technical changes and community debate.
Primary reason: Market-wide deleveraging, as ZEC moved in lockstep with a sharp Bitcoin drop that liquidated over $954 million in long positions.
Secondary reasons: Mixed sentiment and uncertainty surrounding the immediate activation of the NU7 upgrade, which includes faster block times but also risks locking ~$16 million in legacy funds.

Zcash posted. "Are you ready for Zcash NU7?" It lists activation at block height 3,543,405, 3x faster payments, a Network Sustainability Mechanism and hardened security with v4 transactions disabled.
Under ZIP 218, the target time between blocks falls from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, which explains the "3x faster" claim.
The Network Sustainability Mechanism temporarily removes 60% of transaction fees from circulation, per PrimeXBT.
Disabling v4 transactions makes coins in the old Sprout pool unspendable, putting about 12,226 ZEC (near $16 million) at risk, KuCoin reports. CoinGabbar has not confirmed that NU7 has activated.
I believe $ZEC will soon eclipse 2% of the market cap of Bitcoin, which will lead to a series of god candles to new highs beyond $2000 by the end of the year."
Market cap is price times circulating supply. Using figures of 16.92M ZEC and a $1.604 trillion Bitcoin market cap, 2% is about $32.1B. That needs ZEC near $1,896, about 48% above today's price, if Bitcoin stays put. This is one trader's opinion.

A liquidation is a forced close of a leveraged trade when the trader can no longer cover losses. Longs bet on a rise, and shorts bet on a fall.
Window | Total Liquidated | Long | Short |
1h | $431.80K | $408.57K | $23.22K |
4h | $2.19M | $533.38K | $1.65M |
12h | $6.67M | $2.49M | $4.18M |
24h | $15.71M | $9.74M | $5.98M |

Longs took about 62% of the $15.71M liquidated over 24 hours. In the last 12 hours, shorts took about 63%, and in the last hour, longs took about 95%. Both sides were hit, which fits a sharp spike and a fast fall back.

$ZEC peaked near $1,700 in late September. Since October 8, it has traded inside the shaded range, a sideways band between a floor near $1,101.71 and a ceiling at $1,315.06.
Today's candle opened at $1,281.11, spiked to $1,333.34 and printed $1,282.32. The long upper wick shows buyers pushed above the ceiling, but sellers pushed the price back inside. It was still open.
Our November 5 Zcash bull case, a daily close above $1,320.98, did not happen.
Type | Level |
Highest marked level | $1,702.03 |
Resistance 2 | $1,501.22 |
Resistance 1 | $1,315.06 |
Immediate support | $1,101.71 |
Deeper support | $1,001.31 |
Bull case: A daily close above $1,315.06, about 2.6% higher, would end the range and put $1,501.22 in view.
Bear case: If $ZEC closes below $1,101.71, about 14% lower, the price could slide toward $1,001.31, about 22% lower.
Scenario | Trigger | Likely Outcome | Invalidation |
Bull | Close above $1,315.06 | Move toward $1,501.22 | Close back below $1,315.06 |
Base | Range of $1,101.71 to $1,315.06 | Sideways inside the range | Break of either level |
Bear | Close below $1,101.71 | Slide toward $1,001.31 | Close back above $1,101.71 |
It would take a gain of about 56% from $1,282.32. The highest level on our chart is $1,702.03, about 33% higher.
Any Zcash price forecast toward $2,000 needs $ZEC to close above $1,315.06 first, then clear $1,501.22 and $1,702.03.
ZEC has tested the range top again and failed to close above it. The upgrade matters for the network but does not by itself lift the price.
The level to watch is $1,315.06. A daily close above it would be the first real sign of strength, while a close below $1,101.71 would break the floor.
