Binance, the biggest crypto exchange, paused withdrawals on October 29 after a reported multi-billion-dollar hack, and Bitcoin fell about 2%. Yet ZEC is up 3% today. Why? Part of the answer is a short squeeze, and part is Zcash's own news. But ZEC still faces $1,317.80, the level that has capped every rally this month. This Zcash Price Prediction explains why.
Market data checked on October 30, 2026, at 09:32 IST.
The Zcash price today is up 3% to $1,279.39 in 24 hours, showing alpha by rising against a falling Bitcoin. The move is primarily driven by a surge in trading volume and positive social sentiment, with no clear coin-specific news catalyst.
Primary reason: A significant 82% spike in 24-hour trading volume to $1.61B, indicating heightened interest and capital flow.
Secondary reasons: Zcash's long-term potential and a constructive technical structure above key moving averages.
Reports estimate near $6.3 billion in stolen assets, which it calls the largest crypto theft on record. Other outlets put the figure lower, from $5.3 billion to $5.8 billion, and none of it is independently verified.
Binance's first findings point to a compromised engineer's laptop. It says user funds are safe and that it will cover the losses. The reports name Bitcoin, Ether, USDT and USDC as affected assets. Bitcoin fell 2% to below $79,000.
This is CoinGabbar's reading, not a proven cause. The reports we read do not list ZEC among the stolen assets, and Binance's first findings point to its own systems, not to Zcash's code.
ZEC also has its own news, covered below. The Coinglass data adds a third reason. In the last hour, shorts took about 99% of liquidations, so forced buying helped the rebound.
The recently launched spot Zcash ETFs saw three weeks of daily outflows, then a 7-day streak of net inflows. An ETF is a fund that trades on a stock exchange like a share.
The post says the products are up $7.49M three days into the week. It names no fund or source, so CoinGabbar could not verify it.

A liquidation happens when an exchange force-closes a leveraged trade because the trader can no longer cover losses. Longs bet on a rise, and shorts bet on a fall.
Window | Total Liquidated | Long | Short |
1h | $356.69K | $4.46K | $352.23K |
12h | $18.74M | $12.88M | $5.86M |
24h | $24.83M | $13.63M | $11.20M |

Longs took about 55% of the $24.83M liquidated over 24 hours and about 69% of the 12-hour total, since the price fell first.

ZEC peaked near $1,700.87 in late September, then fell to about $1,050 by mid-October. Since then it has moved sideways, and sellers have capped rallies at $1,317.80.
Today, ZEC fell to $1,180.00, under the 50 EMA and the $1,200.81 support level, then bounced to $1,279.39. The candle was still open, so the close can change.
An EMA, or exponential moving average, weights recent prices more heavily.
Type | Level |
Highest marked level | $2,000.91 |
Resistance 3 | $1,700.87 |
Resistance 2 | $1,500.85 |
Resistance 1 | $1,317.80 |
Immediate support | $1,200.81 |
Deeper support | $1,101.45 |
Bull case: A daily close above $1,317.80, about 3% higher, would clear the October cap and put $1,500.85 in view.
Bear case: If $ZEC closes below the 20 EMA at $1,246.48 and then $1,200.81, the price could slide about 14% toward $1,101.45.
Scenario | Trigger | Likely Outcome | Invalidation |
Bull | Close above $1,317.80 | Move toward $1,500.85 | Close below $1,200.81 |
Base | Range of $1,200.81 to $1,317.80 | Sideways near the EMAs | Break of either level |
Bear | Close below $1,200.81 | Slide toward $1,101.45 | Close back above $1,200.81 |
It would take a gain of about 56% from $1,279.39. Any Zcash prediction toward that level needs more than a relief bounce.
The level to watch is $1,317.80. A close above it would be the first real sign of strength, while a close below $1,200.81 would break the support area.
